11/16/09 Announcements

Hi everyone!

We will be having our last general meeting of the semester this Friday, November 20th at 2pm. It will be held at Howell Hall in room 201. Our guest speaker will be Professor Vicki Coury, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Dental Hygiene at the OU College of Dentistry. If you are interested in being an active member next semester, it is important that you come to Friday's meeting to voice your thoughts on what you would like to see take place!

In addition, we are hosting a Health Care Forum with the Pre-Med/Health Professions Club and the Student Nurses' Association. This event will include 4 Speakers (15-30min each) talking about the state of health care, the public option, and the current bills being proposed. A 30min. Q/A portion will follow where attendees can ask the speakers questions. It will also take place Friday, November 20th. It will begin at 4:00pm, and it will be held in the Pegasus Theater found in the Liberal Arts Building at UCO. It is open to all UCO students and the surrounding community!

Speakers are:
- Nancy Patterson, R.N. and UCO Professor
- Wes Glinsmann, Director of State Legislation and Political Affairs for the OSMA
- Pat Hall, lobbyist for the OSMA and UCO
- Dr. Boyd Shook, M.D. and Director of Manos Juntas, OKC Free Medical Clinic

Also, if you attended the Pre-Dental Simulation Course on November 7th, please let us know so that we can award you your points.
